Uploading ROUTES TO YOUR BIKE COMPUTER

The following provides some help for those struggling to upload the routes provides to their bike computers. 


As there are lots of different types of bike computers and laptops, these instructions aren't guaranteed to work for everyone!

VIA GARMIN CONNECT

this only works for routes created in garmin

  1. Go to the Routes page on the website and click View the Route of your preferred route
  2. If it is a Garmin route, click the Send to Device button
  3. Sync your Garmin
  4. The route should now be available in Training | Courses

VIA WINDOWS LAPTOP





1. Login to Strava




2. Go to the club website. 


Select Rides and then Road Routes.


Click on your preferred route.




3. You should see the route in Strava. 


Click the Export GPX button.


The file will appear in the bottom left.




4. Click the arrow next to the file.


Select 'Show in Folder'.


Click the .gpx file and then click the Copy button.




5. In the File View, scroll down until you see the Garmin device in the left panel.


Click it, then Garmin and then NewFiles.


Click the Paste button.



6. Double click the NewFiles folder and the file should be viisible.


You can now disconnect your Garmin device.


The route should now be available in the Training Courses menu on your bike computer.
